We get mixed messages all the time, especially from the media, about our bodies. These messages can be harmful to our health and well-being, impacting the way we see ourselves, our confidence levels, and – in some cases – leading to eating disorders. Body image is usually based more on perceptions and feelings than your actual appearance.

According to a survey by the company GfK, when Canadians look in the mirror, only 11 per cent are completely satisfied with what they see.
